JokkoHub Terms of Use

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of JokkoHub, a professional networking and community platform operated for the Senegalese diaspora and Senegal-connected professionals (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform you accept these Terms.

This document is an operational draft prepared for review by Senegal Network Solutions (SNS). It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by an attorney.

2. Eligibility and account registration

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You may register using email and password or through supported identity providers such as Google and Apple.

You agree to provide accurate information, to maintain the security of your credentials, and to hold only one member account unless JokkoHub permits otherwise. Authentication establishes your identity; completing onboarding (account type, membership selection for individuals, and profile or organization setup) is required before using the Platform as a member.

3. Membership tiers

Individual members choose a membership intent during onboarding: Community (free), Ambassador or Sponsor (paid recognition tiers). Paid tier benefits take effect only after payment is completed through an approved activation process. Selecting a paid tier does not by itself activate it, award a badge, or grant any entitlement.

Recognition badges (Ambassador, Sponsor) are visual acknowledgments of membership support. They do not confer moderation, editorial, or administrative authority. Membership tiers may change; notice will be given on the Platform.

4. Member responsibilities and acceptable conduct

You are responsible for your activity on the Platform. You agree not to harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against other members; not to publish unlawful, hateful, deceptive, or spam content; and not to impersonate another person or organization.

5. User-generated content

You retain ownership of the content you post, including posts, comments, stories, Shorts, and profile information. By posting content, you grant JokkoHub a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate and promote the Platform.

You represent that you have the rights needed to post your content. JokkoHub may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law, and may suspend accounts that repeatedly violate them, but has no general obligation to pre-screen member content.

6. Communities, messaging and moderation

Community participation and direct messages are for their intended members. Content you share in communities or messages may be reviewed by administrators when reported or when reasonably needed for safety. Reporting tools are available on posts, messages, communities, and stories, and reports are handled by platform administrators.

7. Mentorship

Mentorship is a voluntary program between members. Mentors are independent professionals; JokkoHub facilitates matching and workspace tools but does not guarantee professional outcomes or endorse any mentor's advice. Mentors and mentees are each responsible for their conduct, and safety reporting tools are available within the mentorship workspace.

8. Learning

Courses, lessons, and quizzes are provided for educational purposes. Completion certificates attest to activity completed on the Platform and imply no formal accreditation. Instructors are responsible for the accuracy of their course material.

9. Events and Opportunities

Events are organized by members and organizations. Opportunity listings (jobs, internships, scholarships, and similar) are provided for information and may originate from members or external editorial sources. Always verify details, eligibility, and legitimacy independently; JokkoHub is not a party to applications, hiring, or event attendance arrangements.

10. Organization profiles

Organization profiles represent businesses, nonprofits, institutions, and media organizations. You must have authority to act for an organization you register. Organization type and Trusted Media Source recognition are identity and recognition metadata only; they do not constitute verification, endorsement, or editorial authority.

11. Third-party links and services

The Platform links to third-party services, including the JokkoHub News and Business sites, external articles, application forms, and media such as YouTube videos. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, and JokkoHub is not responsible for their content or availability.

12. Intellectual property

The JokkoHub name, logo, design, and Platform software are owned by SNS or its licensors and may not be copied or used without permission, aside from the limited license you grant for your own content under Section 5.

13. Prohibited activity

You may not attempt to breach Platform security, scrape or resell data, interfere with other members' accounts, send unsolicited commercial messages, upload malicious code, or use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

14. Suspension and termination

JokkoHub may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these Terms, threaten members, or compromise the Platform, with or without notice where reasonably required for safety. If you believe a decision was made in error, you may submit a support request.

15. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account from Settings at any time. Deletion removes your profile and personal data; shared content you created (such as posts and comments) may be retained but is anonymized. Because of the way authentication is managed, the underlying sign-in identity is deactivated rather than erased, and the account cannot normally be used again afterwards.

16. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JokkoHub's aggregate liability arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the amount you paid for membership in the twelve months preceding the claim, if any.

17. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be announced on the Platform, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The current version is always available at jokkohub.com/terms.

Questions or reports can be submitted through the in-app Help & Support page. Members can open support requests directly from the Platform; the support team responds as quickly as practicable.
